The Halal Dining Experience at Zauq Mississauga
What does it mean to dine Halal? To understand that, we must first examine the meaning of Halal and Haraam, two concepts derived from the Koran, the holy book of Islam. Simply put, anything that is Halal means it adheres to Islamic law while anything that is Haraam means it violates Islamic law. In regards to food, what this means is that animals must be properly slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law (without stunning) in order to be considered Halal, but eating pork or other meats not considered ritually clean would be considered Haraam.

The menu features both traditional Pakistani dishes as well as more modern fusion cuisine. All of the food is Halal, so you can be sure that it has been prepared according to Islamic law. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, so they can help you choose the perfect dish to suit your taste.
Ordering and Tasting our Food
When you first enter Zauq Mississauga, you're hit with the mouth-watering smell of spices and roasting meat. The decor is modern and sleek, with dark wood floors and white walls. The menu is extensive, and it's hard to decide what to order. We decided on the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Beef Nihari. The Chicken Tikka Masala was tender and flavorful, while the Beef Nihari was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
